Chhattisgarh NEWS : Chhattisgarh State Climate Change Center (CGSCCC) is organizing a one-day workshop on the topic “Implementation of State Climate Change Action Plan in Sustainable Housing and Agriculture Sectors” on 28th November at Aranya Bhawan in Nava Raipur. A video documentary on climate change will be presented during the workshop. Along with this, awareness posters on air conditioner temperature regulation and a book based on 100 success stories related to climate change will be released. In this workshop, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, Smt. Richa Sharma, IAS, will be present as the chief guest.Padmashree Uma Shankar Pandey, a successful farmer, traditional water conservation expert and social activist, will be the special guest who will share her experiences. Highlighting the recent achievements of the Forest Department, Shri Arun Kumar Pandey, IFS, Nodal Officer of Chhattisgarh State Climate Change Center and APCCF, said.
It is noteworthy that under the guidance of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief of Forest Force, Shri V. Srinivas Rao, Chhattisgarh Forest Department has taken many initiatives of national importance.These include drafting an eco-restoration policy, making Chhattisgarh the second state in India after Kerala to formulate this policy, And the proposal for setting up an Eco-Development Board is included. Apart from this, the department has also organized several national level programs on important topics like sustainable forest management and climate change.

(Former Director, WTC, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University), Sankalp Sharma (Narmada Natural Farms, Bhopal) and Dr. Deepak Sharma (Professor, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur) will present their views.
Two panel discussions will be held in the workshop. The first discussion will focus on climate-resilient measures in the sustainable housing sector, with Dr. Raghu Murtugudde (IIT Mumbai), Dr. Himanshu Poptani (NIT Raipur),R. Sangeeta (Secretary cum Excise Commissioner), Basavaraju S., IAS (Urban Administration and Development Department), and Dr. Kanwal Kamra Sujith (Terralive Enviro Tech Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru) will participate.
The second discussion will focus on climate-resilient measures in the agriculture sector, with Dr. Panneerselvam S., Jayanti Bisen (National Hydrology Project), Shehla Nigar, IAS (Department of Agriculture), Pro. GK Das (Dean, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur), and Jagadeesan S., IFS (Director, Horticulture, Chhattisgarh).
