Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday offered prayers at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, pledging to follow the path shown by the great Sikh Gurus and martyrs to work for the welfare of all sections of society.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh said this revered site is a beacon of inspiration for all humanity, as it is where the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji — Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh — were martyred by being bricked alive under the orders of tyrannical rulers. Mann noted that the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas, along with Mata Gujri Ji, has for generations inspired Punjabis to stand firmly against injustice, oppression, and tyranny. He stressed the importance of educating younger generations about this unparalleled sacrifice so they too can be motivated to serve the nation selflessly.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh highlighted the unmatched bravery of the Sahibzadas, who, even at such a tender age, defied the might of the Mughal Governor of Sirhind. He said they inherited their courage and spirit of selfless service from Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who devoted his life to the protection of humanity. Mann added that the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas is a rare chapter in world history, symbolizing supreme valor and sacrifice.
