Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launch Swachhotsav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in a cleanliness drive alongside public representatives at the premises of M.Y. Hospital in Indore to launch Swachhotsava on Wednesday. During the event, he flagged off e-waste collection vehicles of the Indore Municipal Corporation.
Addressing the gathering at the M.Y. Hospital campus, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday is being observed across the state as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. He instructed the hospital management and district administration officials to pay special attention to maintaining cleanliness in the M.Y. Hospital premises. He assured that the state government will provide all possible support for development works in the hospital.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav administered an oath of commitment to cleanliness to the attendees and appealed to everyone to remain dedicated to observing cleanliness by volunteering two hours per week and 100 hours per year towards cleanliness efforts. He urged citizens not to litter and not to let others litter either. He also unveiled the campaign logo for the launch of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign.
E-Waste Collection Campaign Initiated- Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav
Indore Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargav highlighted that e-waste is currently one of the most serious pollutants, and improper disposal of such waste can be extremely harmful to both the environment and human health. He informed that the Indore Municipal Corporation has launched an e-waste collection campaign from 17th September to 2nd October under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign to maintain the city’s cleanliness and reduce pollution.
In the first phase of the campaign, e-waste drop boxes have been placed at the Municipal Headquarters and the Indore Smart City Office located in Nehru Park. Municipal officials and employees are encouraged to deposit unused or damaged electronic items from their homes and offices, such as mobile phones, chargers, fans, computer parts, batteries, televisions, and remotes, into the designated drop boxes.
Mayor Shri Bhargav emphasised that this is not just a one-day event but a sustained special campaign. In future phases, active participation from citizens will be ensured. Designated locations across the city will have e-waste drop boxes for the public to deposit unused electronic items. The Municipal Corporation will also collect e-waste directly from households. He appealed to citizens to deposit old and broken electronic items from their homes, shops, and offices only at the designated locations.
The event was attended by Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Urban Development & Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, State BJP President and MLA Shri Hemant Khandelwal, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLAs Shri Madhu Verma and Shri Golu Shukla, along with other public representatives and citizens.
