Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements at religious places during the upcoming major festivals in the next two months for the convenience of devotees. He emphasized that administrative officers and staff must discharge their duties with alertness and sensitivity in the public interest. Monsoon-related issues must be addressed promptly. Adequate arrangements should be made for seeds and fertilizers for farmers, and students should be provided with textbooks at the beginning of the new academic session.
The Chief Minister gave these directives during a video conference with senior officials, collectors, and superintendents of police from Samatva Bhavan at his residence on Thursday.
Public Safety is the Top Priority
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that 28 districts have received above-normal rainfall this month. From 1 to 26 June, the state has recorded 37% more rainfall than average, with Alirajpur and Neemuch witnessing the highest rainfall. He instructed that barricades be placed at waterlogged spots like submerged roads and bridges to ensure citizen safety. Drainage and sewer blockages should be resolved urgently. In case of water release from dams, villagers should be informed through announcements, WhatsApp, phone calls, and other means. Disaster response teams like Home Guards must remain active, and boats should be arranged in the districts as required.
Prevent Snakebite Deaths
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stressed expanding snakebite prevention and treatment measures, especially at the panchayat and police station levels. Training programs on snakebite prevention and treatment have started and should be continued. He suggested involving and skill-enhancing youths from the Kalbelia community in this initiative to improve community-level response to snakebite incidents during the monsoon.
Law and Order
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that law and order should remain strong in every district. Incidents should not be unnecessarily sensationalized, and those trying to create disputes over resolved matters should be dealt with strictly. He appreciated the commendable work of security forces in controlling Naxalite activities in the state.
Arrangements for Shravan Month Pilgrimages
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav instructed collectors to ensure arrangements for the upcoming festivals and pilgrimages, especially for Shravan month in Omkareshwar, Ujjain, and Mandsaur. Measures must be in place for the movement of devotees and Kanwar yatris. He also suggested enhancing the appeal of events through tribal artists and police bands, continuing the successful initiative introduced last year.
Farmer Welfare
The CM directed that all districts must ensure timely availability of quality fertilizers, nutrients, and seeds. Strict action must be taken against hoarding or black marketing of these agricultural inputs.
Textbooks for Students
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised timely supply of textbooks to schools. Collectors should ensure that no negligence occurs and that students are not forced to buy costly books from select shops. Newly built classrooms and facilities for Sandipani and other schools should be inaugurated soon to benefit students, and the work should be completed in mission mode. The Chief Secretary informed that 85% of student enrollments have been completed and efforts are being made for 100% enrollment.
Effective Use of Gaushalas
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure stray cows on highways and city roads are shifted to gaushalas to prevent accidents. Facilities are better in large gaushalas, and funding has been increased for others as well. Cattle owners should also be made aware and should not let cows stray onto roads. Dry resting spaces should be arranged for cattle, and the administration should inform livestock keepers about gaushala services.
Maternal and Child Health
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stressed working with the aim of minimizing and eliminating maternal and infant mortality. He called for multi-dimensional efforts to control anemia. He also reviewed welfare schemes with collectors and issued necessary directions.
Timely Action for Promotions
Referring to the landmark decision to resume promotions after nine years, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav instructed all departments to complete necessary actions at every level within the prescribed time limit.
