Chief Minister Yadav has said that Ujjain (Avantika), one of the seven sacred cities of the country, has always held an illustrious place in every era.
Chief Minister Yadav : Names such as King Vikramaditya, Mahakavi Kalidas, Emperor Ashoka and Chandra Pradyot are eternally associated with Ujjain. The city also carries the proud legacy of national hero Durga Das Rathore. Today, Bhoomi-Pujan was performed for the restoration of his ‘Chhatri’. The Chief Minister said, “In every age, Ujjain’s saga has been one of glory, and we are now entering a new era.” He added that Regal Talkies in the Gopal Mandir area of Ujjain has a glorious history—it is the venue where the procession of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar is taken out, the peshwai during Singhasth begins here, and it also symbolises the union of Hari and Har.
Chief Minister Yadav performed Bhoomi-Pujan for development projects worth Rs. 79.27 crore on Wednesday, at a program held at Chhatri Chowk near Gopal Mandir. These projects include— Development of Regal Talkies at a cost of Rs. 25.15 crore, Road widening from Gada Puliya to Ravi Shankar Nagar via Jaisinghpura up to Lalpul Bridge at a cost of Rs. 22.30 crore (under preparations for the upcoming Singhasth Mahaparva) and Road widening from Gadi Adda Chauraha to VD Cloth Market, Nikas Chauraha, Khajur Wali Masjid, KD Gate road via Juna Somwaria to Badi Puliya at a cost of Rs. 31.83 crore. A short film showcasing the proposed upgradation of Regal Talkies was also screened. The redevelopment will be carried out over an area of 36,000 sq. ft.
Chief Minister Yadav said that Ujjain has always had a special place in history. With Singhasth 2028 in view, development works are progressing continuously. Today, Ujjain received projects worth a total of Rs. 107 crore. He informed that during the upcoming Singhasth, the ritual bath (snan) will take place in the waters of the Kshipra river itself. With the Severkhedi–Silarkhedi project, water will flow in Shipra throughout the year, ensuring its perennial flow. For smooth connectivity during the fair, Ujjain will soon get a new 4-lane road. In addition, a new metro line—costing about Rs. 10,000 crore—will connect Ujjain with Indore and Pithampur.
CM Dr. Yadav said that Vikram Udyogpuri has been established as an industrial hub from where world-class products are being manufactured and supplied to several countries. He highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Lakhpati Didi Yojana’ has empowered women. Taking inspiration from the Prime Minister, the state government launched the ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’, under which women are currently being given Rs. 1,250 per month. Soon, this amount will be increased to Rs. 1,500 per month. The Chief Minister said that the state government has provided 33% reservation to women in local body elections and now intends to extend 27% reservation to the OBC category. The government is working for the development of every section of society. Madhya Pradesh will soon have 32 medical colleges (government and private combined). Since 2002–03, irrigation coverage in the state has expanded rapidly, and in the last one and a half years alone, it has increased by 7.5 lakh hectares.

CM and Union Minister Perform Bhoomi-Pujan for Development Works Worth Rs. 52 Crore
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also performed Bhoomi Pujan for development works worth Rs. 52.69 crore at another program in Ujjain. These works include conservation and enhancement of the memorial of national hero Durga Das Rathore (Durga Das Chhatri). The program was organized under the Directorate of Archaeology, Archives & Museums and Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department. District In-charge Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal, MLA Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda, Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav, Shri Ravi Solanki, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, and others were present.
Tribute Paid at Veer Durga Das Chhatri
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Union Minister Shri Shekhawat, and other dignitaries paid floral tribute at the Chhatriof Veer Durga Das Rathore. The Chief Minister said that various initiatives will be undertaken to acquaint the younger generation with the valor, courage, and glorious history of Veer Durga Das. These will include installation of his statue, construction of a pedestrian bridge, garden, activity zone, retaining wall, parking facility, horse-riding track, open-air theatre, and museum. The Chief Minister reviewed the proposed plans on site and issued necessary instructions to officials.
