Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had presented the vision of a “Developed India” during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Chief Minister Yogi ,By 2047, when India celebrates 100 years of independence, we must decide what kind of India we want to build. This vision is not only the responsibility of the government but a collective pledge of 140 crore citizens. With this spirit, the “Developed Uttar Pradesh/2047 Campaign” has been launched, in which everyone must participate.
Speaking at the orientation workshop under this campaign, the CM inaugurated the Samarth Uttar Pradesh Portal. He emphasized that 25 crore people of the state should become stakeholders in this journey. The role of intellectuals, retired professionals, and youth is vital to spread awareness and strengthen the campaign.
Highlighting India’s economic journey, CM Yogi said that India, once the world’s largest economy, had declined to just 2% of global GDP in 1947. However, under the leadership of PM Modi since 2014, India has risen to become the 4th largest economy and is projected to become the 3rd by 2027. With sustained efforts, India will achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
He added that Uttar Pradesh, once the biggest state economy with a 14% share in national GDP post-independence, had slipped to the 8th position by 2017. Before 2017, UP was labeled as a “BIMARU state,” plagued with unemployment, farmer distress, migration of artisans, and poor education. But in the last eight years, UP has transformed into the country’s second-largest economy and the fastest-growing state. The state’s SGDP has grown from ₹13 lakh crore to ₹35 lakh crore, exports have touched ₹2 lakh crore, and schemes like “One District One Product” have revived MSMEs, artisans, and handicrafts.
The CM stressed that sustainable growth, self-reliant villages, and people’s participation are key to building a Developed Uttar Pradesh. Intellectuals should engage with universities and institutions, document discussions, and encourage citizens to contribute ideas through QR codes for short, medium, and long-term plans. Every village, municipality, and ward will be connected with this campaign.
Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with other ministers and senior officials, also attended the event. They reiterated that under the strong leadership of the Prime Minister and the CM, UP is building a strong foundation for the “Developed India, Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047” vision.
