Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the closing ceremony of the ‘State Level Senior Prize Money Men Wrestling Competition’ held in Gorakhpur district today. He gave away the prize money, mace and certificates to the winners of Uttar Pradesh Kesari, Uttar Pradesh Kumar and Veer Abhimanyu titles under the ‘State Level Senior Prize Money Men Wrestling Competition’.
2 On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated Nag Panchami and said that this traditional wrestling competition being held on Nag Panchami is becoming a model of new enthusiasm and enthusiasm for the entire Uttar Pradesh including eastern Uttar Pradesh.
For the last hundreds of years, only the youth of eastern Uttar Pradesh used to join this wrestling competition held in the premises of Gorakhnath temple, but in the last few years, the youth pursuing wrestling as a career are also joining this competition.
In this competition, he is also given the trophy of the honorable title of Uttar Pradesh Kesari, Uttar Pradesh Kumar and Veer Abhimanyu.
Chief Minister Yogi said that Indian culture since ancient times believes in the concept of ‘shraddhimadyam khalu dharma sadhanam “i. e. all the means of religion can be fulfilled by a healthy body. A regular exercise routine is essential for a healthy body and mind. After this restraint and routine, all of us should join some or the other sports activity. The players who are disciplined with regular practice, their regular routine is also very restrained. Laziness has no place in their lives. That is why their health is always useful to them. When these players join sports professionally, they bring glory not only to their families but also to the society, state and nation.
Chief Minister Yogi said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has seen a huge change in sports and sports activities in the last 11 years. He called upon the youth of the country and citizens of all ages to get involved in sports and sports activities. Other sports events, including the Khelo India campaign, have played an important role in this.
In the last 11 years, the players of the state have also performed well in various disciplines of sports in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, World Championship and other national competitions. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the state government has done a lot of work in the last eight years to increase sports activities, increase sports infrastructure facilities and encourage sportspersons. The state government has continuously increased the infrastructure facilities to increase the sports activities at the district, block and village level besides publicly honouring the best performers in the Olympics, 3 Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and other international competitions.
Chief Minister Yogi said that now playgrounds are available in villages. The government has taken up construction of mini stadiums at the block level and stadiums at the district level. Along with this, sports kits have been provided to Yuvak Mangal Dal and Mahila Mangal Dal by the state government. The state government is also working to provide jobs to the players who have won medals in the Olympic, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games under the state sports policy. Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in giving jobs to sportspersons. The state government has so far given honourable jobs to 500 skilled sportspersons with financial assistance.
Chief Minister Yogi said that in the recently held Police World Championship, Uttar Pradesh Police has secured first position in the country and third position in the world. When the government encourages, our youth puts all their energy into the best performance. Today, this best performance has also been seen in this wrestling competition in the form of Uttar Pradesh Kesari, Uttar Pradesh Kumar, Veer Abhimanyu. More than 300 players participated in the tournament. Good thing for the players who are achieving success today, but the players who participated here are also a source of inspiration for all.
Chief Minister Yogi said that besides honouring all the 300 wrestlers who participated in this prize money competition held here, the first, second and third place winners in the 80 kg and above category under Uttar Pradesh Kesari have been given a certificate with a cash prize of Rs. The first, second and third position holders in the 60-80 kg category under Uttar Pradesh Kumar have been given a certificate with a cash prize of Rs. In the 55-60 kg category, the first, second and third place winners under Veer Abhimanyu Award 4 have been given Rs 51 thousand, Rs 25 thousand and Rs 11 thousand respectively and a certificate with a mace.
Chief Minister Yogi said that generally people are afraid of snakes, but there is a spiritual power in the body of every human being, which we call serpent power in common language. We all seem eager to attain this power through Ashtasiddhi and Navanidhi. All sadhus, ascetics and others yearn to attain this power. In our tradition, the opportunity to get this spiritual power and physical strength is seen on the Nag Panchami festival. People run away on seeing snakes, but on the day of Nag Panchami, we respect and worship snakes with the bhog of milk and lava. This act shows our respect for the living creature of our culture. This festival tells us that in this universe there are not only human beings but also other living creatures and the world progresses by the collective life of all.
