According to a report by South China Morning Post, DeepSeek recently posted 10 new roles on LinkedIn, despite the platform’s limited use in mainland China. The positions, based in Hangzhou and Beijing, range from internships in large language models to full-stack developers and core systems engineers. The use of LinkedIn signals a clear attempt to engage overseas Chinese AI professionals or international talent with Chinese-language proficiency.
Domestically, the company is also aggressively hiring. Over 40 job listings have been posted on local job platform Boss Zhipin, with some salaries reaching up to ¥90,000 (approximately US$12,500) per month, along with bonuses equivalent to two months’ salary. Several listings are marked “urgent,” particularly those tied to key AGI research and engineering roles.
DeepSeek markets itself as combining academic rigor with practical implementation. Its infrastructure includes “top-tier GPU clusters” and high-speed experimentation pipelines, designed to support cutting-edge research in both theoretical and applied AI. The firm emphasizes collaboration between researchers with strong foundations in both engineering and machine learning theory.
While DeepSeek has not yet released a groundbreaking model, it continues to refine its offerings. The company recently launched updated versions of its R1 reasoning model and V3 foundational model, aiming to strengthen its position in the competitive AGI development landscape.
