Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday presented development projects worth over ₹13 crore to the people of Malerkotla district by inaugurating newly built tehsil complexes in the Amargarh and Ahmedgarh Sub-Divisions.
Sharing the details, CM Bhagwant stated that this initiative is part of the government’s dedication to responsibly using public funds for the welfare of citizens. He mentioned that ₹6.36 crore was invested in constructing the Amargarh Tehsil Complex, while ₹6.86 crore was spent on the new Ahmedgarh facility. The Amargarh complex, built across 27,000 square feet, includes the SDM office, a courtroom, a spacious hall, 26 cabins, and other essential infrastructure.
Similarly, the Ahmedgarh Tehsil Complex, built on 2.39 acres of land, is a modern three-storey building with offices for the SDM, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Patwari, and other administrative departments. It also features staff rooms, registration counters, and accessibility infrastructure such as ramps and lifts to accommodate differently-abled individuals.
CM Bhagwant highlighted that thousands of citizens rely on these offices for their daily administrative needs, and the new buildings are designed with future requirements in mind. He criticized previous administrations for neglecting such developments. Mann emphasized that the new complexes would not only provide improved working conditions for government employees but also ensure a smoother and more efficient service experience for the public.
