Taking a significant step toward Ludhiana’s comprehensive development, Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday announced a ₹13 crore development package for the city. These initiatives reflect the state government’s firm commitment to urban renewal, with no dearth of funds for key infrastructure projects. Thanks to the Chief Minister’s close oversight, these citizen-centric projects were completed on schedule and with high-quality execution, aimed at upgrading the city’s infrastructure to global standards.
As part of the development drive, CM Bhagwant inaugurated a state-of-the-art playground in the Salem Tabri area, covering over 5,100 square feet and costing ₹26 lakh. The multipurpose ground, equipped with modern facilities including floodlights and camera recording, is designed for sports such as cricket, basketball, handball, and badminton—helping channel youth energy in a constructive direction.
He also opened a newly built auditorium at Dr. Ambedkar Bhawan near Jalandhar Bypass Chowk, created at a cost of ₹4.3 crore. The auditorium offers a fully equipped venue for public events and community functions, featuring advanced amenities like motorized curtains, acoustic soundproofing, and projection systems.
Additionally, CM Bhagwant Mann inaugurated a 72.4-meter high-level bridge over Budha Nallah near Chand Cinema. Built at a cost of ₹8.16 crore, the bridge will significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity, especially for commuters entering the city from the Jalandhar Bypass.
The Chief Minister stated that these projects are aligned with the state government’s vision of creating modern urban infrastructure and improving the quality of life for every citizen. These first-of-their-kind initiatives will not only enhance Ludhiana’s urban landscape but also push the city—and Punjab as a whole—toward a path of accelerated economic progress.
