CM Bhagwant Mann : Expressing deep condolences over the passing of Punjab Police Constable Harshveer Singh, who laid down his life in the line of duty, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today presented a ₹1 crore cheque to the martyr’s family as a tribute to his ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
The Chief Minister stated that Constable Harshveer Singh attained martyrdom while serving in the Sadak Surakhya Force. He further noted that the state government provided ₹1 crore as ex-gratia support, while an additional ₹1 crore was given under an insurance cover by HDFC Bank. Mann emphasized that this gesture acknowledges the significant contribution of this brave officer in fulfilling his duty to the state.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the welfare of soldiers and their families, CM Bhagwant Mann assured that the state remains dedicated to supporting the families of those who make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. He added that this financial assistance to Harshveer Singh’s family aligns with the government’s pledge to care for personnel from the Armed Forces, paramilitary, and police.
