Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday pledged justice for the families who lost seven children in a tragic road accident, assuring that the harshest action will be taken against anyone who tried to obstruct the investigation.
Speaking to the media after meeting the grieving families, the Chief Minister called the incident a devastating loss of young, talented students and offered his heartfelt condolences. He stated that the Punjab government stands in full solidarity with the affected families and will make every possible effort to deliver justice.
He assured that all those responsible for the tragic event would face strict action, stressing that even powerful individuals who attempted to delay the investigation or derail justice would not be spared. Such interference, he said, is a serious offense and will be met with stringent consequences to set an example.
The Chief Minister further announced a statewide crackdown on illegal mining and overloaded vehicles, issuing firm directives to the police and transport departments to act decisively against violators. He termed such illegal practices as inexcusable and warned that endangering public safety would not be tolerated.
As a tribute to the young lives lost, Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that a Children’s Memorial Park will be built in their memory. He also revealed that the Samana-Patran road will be expanded into a four-lane highway to improve safety on the frequently accident-prone route.
Additionally, he announced a major upgrade to the Samana government hospital, including the addition of modern medical infrastructure. To bolster emergency response in the region, seven new ambulances will also be deployed to enhance healthcare services
