Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to accelerating industrial growth and positioning Punjab as a leader in the sector.

A delegation of industrialists and traders met CM Bhagwant Singh Mann at his official residence, where they lauded his efforts to promote industrial development. They acknowledged the rapid progress in the sector under the current administration and appreciated the government’s consistent support. However, they expressed concerns about the disruption caused by the blockade at the Shambhu border due to the farmers’ agitation, which has hindered business operations. They urged the Chief Minister to intervene and facilitate the reopening of traffic for smooth business functioning.

In response, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann assured the delegation that the government is dedicated to addressing their concerns and ensuring a favorable business environment. He emphasized the state’s proactive approach to strengthening industry and commerce and committed to taking up their issues with the Union and Haryana governments to ensure uninterrupted business operations.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted Punjab’s strong social harmony, peace, and stability as key drivers of economic growth. He noted that, due to the government’s concerted efforts, investments worth approximately ₹94,000 crore have been secured in the past three years. Major companies like Tata Steel and Sanatan Textiles are eager to invest in the state, benefiting from Punjab’s business-friendly ecosystem, robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and efficient industrial policies.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated that Punjab is rapidly emerging as a national industrial hub and assured entrepreneurs of the government’s unwavering support. He welcomed new ideas and innovations to further boost industrial expansion, pledging the administration’s full cooperation in fostering growth.

The delegation included key representatives from various industrial associations and businesses, along with officials from the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board.
