To enhance parental involvement in the management of government schools and improve the quality of education, the Punjab Cabinet, led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, approved amendments to the Punjab Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011.
This decision was taken during a Council of Ministers meeting chaired by CM Bhagwant at the Punjab Civil Secretariat I.
A spokesperson from the Chief Minister’s Office stated that the amendment aims to increase parental and community participation in School Management Committees (SMCs) to support the holistic development of government schools.
