CM Bhajan Lal Sharma : ACB's 68th Foundation Day Celebration ,Our zero tolerance policy against corruption

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that corruption is an evil that prevents schemes from reaching the last person and increases inequality in the society. “Our government is firmly moving forward on the resolve of corruption-free Rajasthan while working on the policy of zero tolerance against corruption,” he said. “No person, no matter how influential, is above the law. Police should discharge their duties with full devotion and honesty without coming under any pressure. He said that he is always available to fulfill the aspirations of 8 crore people of the state and solve all their problems.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was addressing the 68th Raising Day Celebrations of Anti-Corruption Bureau at Rajasthan International Centre on Tuesday. He said that a corruption-free administration is necessary to continuously take the benefits of public welfare schemes to the last mile. In such a situation, the role of ACB becomes even more important. Shri Sharma said that the ACB has demonstrated its efficiency and commitment in all areas like catching the corrupt red-handed on the spot, exposing the cases of embezzlement, disproportionate assets and misuse of office etc. The arrest of one of its own Additional Superintendents of Police in a corruption case proves that the ACB is working on a policy of zero tolerance.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that our government is also making continuous efforts to further strengthen the law and order in the state. We formed an anti-gangster task force. Decisions like recruitment to 10,000 posts in the police, approval of additional superintendent of police offices in 8 new districts, establishment of 3 women police battalions have been taken by the government. Also, to improve the response time of the police, 500 Kalika Patrolling Teams have been formed by providing 22 Interceptors, 750 Motor Cycles and 500 Police Mobile Unit Vehicles to the Police Mobile Unit.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State Government has taken several steps for the welfare of police personnel. “We have created Police Modernisation and Infrastructure Fund for police modernisation and related infrastructure, set up Sardar Patel Centre for Cyber Control Room, upgraded Police Telecommunication Training Centre as Rajasthan Police Technical Training Academy. He said that the department is being empowered by taking decisions like increase in uniform allowance and mess allowance in the police department, free travel in express and semi-deluxe buses of Rajasthan Roadways, creation of langri posts and 10 percent increase in their honorarium.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said the state government was fully committed to provide transparent and corruption-free governance. During the last one and a half years, our government has taken strict action against corrupt personnel. Under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, we have expedited the process of granting prior approval. Recently, disciplinary action against state service officers, prosecution sanction and expeditious disposal of pending cases under Section 17-A have been taken up. He said that tough decisions like dismissal of serving officers from service in serious cases of corruption and unauthorised absence have also been taken. Along with prompt and strict action in ACB cases against corrupt government employees, departmental action like stopping their pension is also being taken effectively.
Shri Sharma said that taking bribe is a crime and it is our collective responsibility to stop this crime. He appealed to the people of the state that if corruption is seen anywhere, then inform without any fear. People’s participation will further strengthen this fight.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister, several steps have been taken for transparency and purity in governance. The State Government has laid emphasis on greater use of technology to establish good governance. Innovations like e-filing, simplification of rules and procedures, outreach programmes have promoted accountability in the system. Director General of Police Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma said that Rajasthan ranks second in the country in taking action against corruption. The Chief Minister has directed the police to take action without pressure, which has strengthened the law and order.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister released a poster published by the Anti-Corruption Bureau. On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Jasbir Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police Mr Charanjit Singh Sohal, SDM Mr Rahul Sindhu, Joint MC Commissioner Mr Harcharan Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr Hardeep Singh, ACP Model Town Mr Harinder Singh and others were present.
