CM Bhajan Lal Sharma conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Dholpur districts. He interacted with the affected people at Chakchainpura in Sawai Madhopur district, Mandrayal in Karauli district and Bishnoda in Dholpur district to know their problems and directed the concerned officials to carry out disaster relief work expeditiously.
CM Bhajan Lal undertook an aerial survey of the rain-affected villages of Chakeri, Jadawata, Ajnoti, Mainpura, Dhanoli, Soorwal and Khandar in Sawai Madhopur district, the flood-affected villages of Kaser, Kemkach, Todi, Malhapuran, Ranchauli, Rahughat, Mandrayal in Karauli district and the flood-affected villages of Kathumara, Mehmadpura, Buxpura, Cheelpura, Chadian Ka Pura, Garhi Jafar, Basai Ghiyaram, Andhiari as well as Nibhi Ka Tal and Urmila Sagar Dam (Bari) in Rajakhera subdivision of Dholpur district.
Interacting with the people affected by heavy rains and waterlogging, CM Bhajan Lal said the state government stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this difficult time and will extend all possible help to them. He said that the State Government is constantly monitoring the situation arising out of abnormal and excessive rainfall this year. Regular meetings are being held with the district collectors, local public representatives and administrative officials to take feedback.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officials to complete the repair works of schools, anganwadis, hospitals and roads on priority. Girdawari process should be completed soon to compensate the crop loss. He said that basic facilities like electricity, roads and communication system should be restored at the earliest while taking prompt action in relief works in the disaster affected areas. The Chief Minister said that the state government is also working towards a long-term solution to the problems caused by rains and floods every year. Special attention is being paid to strengthening the infrastructure for drainage, cleaning of drains and flood prevention. He said that effective steps will be taken towards a permanent solution in the villages located on the banks of the Chambal river, where there is a flood situation when there is heavy rain.
It is noteworthy that teams of Civil Defense and Disaster Relief Forces are continuously working in the areas of heavy rain and waterlogging in the state. In Dholpur district, 2 teams of SDRF have been deployed in Rajakheda and 1-1 teams have been deployed in Dholpur and Sarmathura sub-division areas to deal with the flood situation and for relief and rescue work. A team of NDRF is deployed at Dholpur headquarters. An Army team has also been called to Dholpur for relief and rescue operations. More than 2700 people from the affected villages in these areas have been evacuated to safer places. People in Sawai Madhopur have also been shifted to safer places by rescue teams. The repair work of Bodal bridge built downstream of Mansarovar Dam in Sawai Madhopur has also been completed and traffic has been streamlined.
