On the occasion of Hariyali Teej, inspired by CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Jaipur district administration has set a record of planting saplings in a single day. Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma planted a sapling on the occasion of 76th Van Mahotsav at Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University campus, Madau, Jaipur.
At the same time, the Jaipur district administration under Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan has achieved the first position in 41 districts of the state by planting 42 lakh 2 thousand 139 saplings in the entire Jaipur district in a single day more than double the allotted target (21 lakh saplings). It may be recalled that inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modis Ek Vridh Maa Ke Naam campaign, the State Government had launched Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan on the festival of Hariyali Teej last year.
Deputy Conservator of Forests V. Ketan Kumar said that on the occasion of Hariyali Teej, under the guidance and leadership of Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, the district administration has planted a total of 42 lakh 2 thousand 139 saplings in the entire district under Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan. Due to effective action plan and regular monitoring, the team complemented the efforts of the district administration and the government departments, bodies, corporations have achieved this feat by setting an example of cooperation, coordination and healthy competition. In Jaipur, on the occasion of Hariyali Teej, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the general public regarding the plantation of saplings, the Van Mahotsav turned into a Jan Mahotsav with public participation, the villagers in Madhorajpura and other sub-divisions danced to folk songs and took active part in the Van Mahotsav program.
He said that the highest number of 14,58,454 saplings were planted by the Education Department, while 2,55,218 saplings were planted by the Forest Department in Jaipur, 5,222 by the Pollution Control Board, 84,250 by the Labour Department, 2,80 by the Defence Department, 6,38,973 under MGNREGA, 17,609 by the Horticulture Department, 3,403 by the Animal Husbandry Department and more than 11,000 saplings were planted by the Mineral Department.
Shri V. Ketan Kumar said that under Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan, in Jaipur district, 3,200 saplings were planted by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation, 3,583 by ICDS, 16,160 by Public Health Engineering Department, 44,417 by Agriculture Department, 2,90,928 by Local Self Government Department, 4,595 by Women and Child Development Department, 401 by Ayurveda Department, more than 5,000 by Watershed Department, 2,164 by Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation.
He said that 5 thousand saplings were planted by the Transport Department, 51 thousand 419 by the Revenue Department, 1,270 by the Police Department, 1,12 thousand 456 by the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department, 6 thousand 541 by the Medical and Health Department, 1,39 thousand 476 by the Public Works Department, 2,120 by the Irrigation Department, 9 thousand 805 by the Water Resources Department, 19 thousand 548 by the Industries Department, 61 thousand 708 by the Urban Development Department, 100 by the Agriculture University, 59 thousand 549 by the Urban Development and Housing Department, 1,901 by the Information and Technology Department, 2,721 by the Municipal Corporation Jaipur Heritage, 1,5 thousand 635 by the Municipal Corporation Jaipur Greater and more than 18 thousand saplings were planted by other departments.
