CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad today. Sharma also condoled the death of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in the accident.
“The incident is very tragic and unfortunate,” Sharma said. In this difficult time, I pray for the peace of the departed soul. Let God give strength to her family to bear this unbearable pain. He also wished speedy recovery to the injured.
“All those who died in this accident were our own. The central and state governments are providing all possible assistance to the families of the victims. The Gujarat government and the central government are engaged in handling the situation arising out of this accident and the Rajasthan government, being a neighbouring state, is also ready to provide all possible help.
Shri Sharma said that so far, 11 passengers from Rajasthan have been reported to be on board this flight. The passengers were residents of Udaipur, Banswara, Bikaner and Balotra districts. He spoke to his family members over the phone. Meanwhile, the district administration is in constant touch with the families of the deceased and is ensuring all possible assistance to them.
The Chief Minister cancelled all his programmes.
As soon as the news of the Ahmedabad plane crash was received, Shri Sharma cancelled all the meetings and other programmes scheduled at the Chief Minister’s residence. The Chief Minister will also not attend the Yoga Mahotsav to be held in Jaipur tomorrow on June 13. The proposed state-level programme of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) at Banswara on Friday has also been cancelled.
