CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed to complete the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the proposed Metro Corridor (Phase-II) from Sitapura (Goner Mor) to Ambabari (Todi Mor) by 31st March, 2025. He said tenders for the civil works of the corridor should be issued before August 15 and ensure time-bound implementation of the project.
Presiding over the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government is serious about the expansion of metro service in Jaipur and wants to connect all the areas of the city with the metro network keeping in mind the future requirements.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officials to start metro operations from Sitapura to Ambabari under Phase-2 at the earliest so that major areas like Pratapnagar, Tonk Road, Sikar Road, Vidyadhar Nagar and Sitapura can benefit from the metro facility.
Priority to passenger amenities at metro stations
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officials to ensure adequate parking arrangements at the stations of Sitapura-Ambabari metro corridor and connect the stations with pod taxi system to enhance passenger convenience. He also gave necessary guidelines while discussing the alignment of the metro route.
In the meeting, the officials gave a detailed presentation to CM Bhajan Lal Sharma on the progress of the Metro project. It was informed that all the metro rail projects under construction and future will be implemented in the state through a joint venture company of the central government and Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC).
