CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that media plays a significant role in the progress of the country and the state by giving a positive direction to the society through its news. At the same time, it is also an important medium in motivating the youth to succeed in life. “Newspapers are considered the fourth pillar of our democracy. But at the time of emergency, an attempt was made to weaken and topple this pillar. At that time, the media was not only censored, but many veteran journalists were also put behind bars.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was addressing the Dainik Bhaskar Award function in Jaipur on Friday. He said that newspapers are read by the youth preparing for competitive examinations for general knowledge. But it is ironical that during the time of the previous government, they did not get jobs despite working hard day and night. The selected recruitments that came out were also subjected to paper leak. Shri Sharma said that realizing the dreams of the youth, our government has so far given the gift of more than 75 thousand government appointments and has also released the calendar of recruitment to more than 81 thousand posts in the year 2025. He said that on Thursday, notifications have also been issued for more than 26 thousand posts simultaneously.
More work done than the previous government in one and a half years
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that our government has done much more development work in just one and a half years as compared to the five years of the previous government. Various schemes like Ramjal Setu Link Project, Yamuna Jal Samjhauta, Dewas Project and availability of water through Indira Gandhi Canal and Gangnahar have been ensured. At the same time, we also aim to provide day-time electricity to farmers by 2027 by making the state self-sufficient in the field of electricity. He said that the state government has made adequate provision of funds in the last two budgets in the direction of strengthening infrastructure in the state. 9 The next phase of Green Field Expressway and Jaipur Metro Rail Project is also being taken up. Apart from this, women empowerment is being done through Lakhpati Didi Yojana and Lado Protsahan Yojana along with giving cooking gas cylinders at Rs 450.
Historical changes in the country since 2014
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed a historic transformation since 2014. Along with improving the sex ratio through the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, the Prime Minister has also taken notable initiatives in the field of environment through campaigns like Swachh Bharat and Ek Vridh Maa Ke Naam. Now the definition of poor welfare has changed. The entire amount sent by the Central Government under various schemes reaches the beneficiary.
Shri Sharma said that the talented individuals who have been awarded in the programme are all doing excellent work in their respective fields. His words have a deep impact on society and people follow him. Therefore, such people should perform the duty of a responsible citizen and help in reaching the benefits of the welfare schemes of the central and state government to the person standing at the last rung of the society.
Earlier, the Chief Minister gave a message of environment conservation by planting Tulsi seeds in the pot and honoured the personalities who have done remarkable work in various fields. National Editor of Dainik Bhaskar, Shri Laxmiprasad Pant and other dignitaries from the field of journalism and other fields were present on the occasion.
