CM Bhajan Lal Sharma met the Union Ministers during his visit to New Delhi on Monday. He met the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal and Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri C. R. Patil and discussed various issues concerning the State.
During the meeting with Shri Shivraj Chouhan at Krishi Bhawan, Shri Sharma had fruitful discussions on various subjects including rural development, agriculture sector, Lakhpati Didi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana in the state. On this occasion, Shri Sharma thanked the Union Minister for releasing Rs. 4384 crore to Rajasthan under MGNREGA scheme this financial year on behalf of the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
During the meeting held at Krishi Bhawan, the Chief Minister urged Mr. Chouhan to arrange ‘Agriculture Observers “at Gram Panchayat level with central assistance in Rajasthan, to notify for promotion of improved groundnut varieties of the state and to promote castor oil produced in the state. He also apprised Shri Chouhan about the schemes related to ‘Per Drop-More Crop’, Diggy construction and fencing in the fields as well as the remarkable progress in the agriculture sector in Bassi, Jaipur.
Talking about the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a lot of excellent work has been done in Rajasthan under this important scheme. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed happiness over this and said that as soon as the verification of the survey of the proposed houses is completed, the construction of additional houses will be approved. He said that along with this scheme, houses will also be constructed under the PM-Janman Yojana in Rajasthan and a total of 7.46 lakh houses will be built.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Bhagirath Chaudhary, Union Agriculture Secretary Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Union Rural Development Secretary Shri Shailesh Singh, Director General ICAR Dr. M.L. Jat along with senior officers of the Centre and Rajasthan.
Meeting with Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal
Later, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma also paid a courtesy call on the Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal at Parliament House. A detailed discussion was held on important topics related to new possibilities in the energy sector, housing projects and urban development in Rajasthan. He urged the Union Minister for central support for strengthening of the inter-state transmission system and creation of necessary infrastructure for utilization of additional transmission capacity of renewable energy. Shri Sharma also requested the Union Minister for Central assistance for expeditious implementation of Metro Phase-II and e-bus service in Jaipur.
Meeting with Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri C.R.Patil
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma called on the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri C.R. Patil at his official residence. Briefing the Union Minister about the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission and Ram Jal Setu Link Project in Rajasthan, Shri Sharma said that these would ensure adequate availability of water for irrigation and drinking purposes in the State. He informed Shri Patil that due to good rains in Rajasthan this monsoon, the reservoirs of the state have been filled ahead of time and the ground water level of the state will also be increased through Matrubhumi and Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan – Jan Abhiyan from Karmabhoomi.
