CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that all the departments should immediately repair the damaged, dilapidated buildings so that any kind of accident could be avoided. He said that now personal responsibility will be fixed for the loss of lives in any such accident. The Chief Minister directed the officials to make a list of government buildings, schools, anganwadis built in the last six years and form a special state-level committee to check the quality of construction.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma gave specific directions to the officials regarding dilapidated buildings in a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. He said that for the repair of damaged buildings, approval should be obtained from the Disaster Management Unit and work should be started by preparing proposals on time. He said that special attention needs to be given to inspection, repair and maintenance of buildings constructed in rural areas. The staff working in government offices should also fulfill their responsibility by informing the authorities concerned about the dilapidated buildings.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that special attention should be paid to the repair and maintenance of Anganwadi centers in the state and they should be compulsorily inspected. He said that the state government has made a provision of Rs 50 crore in the budget 2025-26 for the repair of the buildings of 5,000 Anganwadi centers. It was informed in the meeting that dilapidated and damaged Anganwadis have been shifted to safer places.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the concerned departments including Public Works Department, Education, Women and Child Development Department to immediately inspect all government offices, especially schools, hospitals and other public buildings and make district-wise reports with complete information and get the repair works done. The meeting was attended by officials of education, health, panchayat raj, women and child development departments.
