CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has given instructions to make the present traffic situation of Jaipur city smooth and smooth immediately. He also said that the Home and Transport Department, JDA, Urban Development and Housing and Autonomous Government Departments should work together with collective responsibility for a long-term action plan in view of the future requirements for traffic management.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was chairing a high-level meeting on traffic management in major cities of the state and Jaipur city at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday. He directed the police and traffic officials to create awareness among the public.
Transfer of identified bus stands to be implemented soon
In the meeting, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed to develop a system of one-way traffic operation on the busiest routes by taking suggestions from traders and the general public for the smooth operation of vehicles and relief from congestion in Jaipur city. He said that the relocation of the identified auto and bus stands of the city should be implemented soon. In this sequence, buses should be operated immediately after the monsoon from Hirapura Bus Terminal. He directed to ensure operation of JCTCL buses for movement of passengers from newly shifted bus stands of Jaipur to the city.
Multi-level parking system should be developed in Jaipur city as per the need.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officials to promote multi-level parking and utility opportunities at prominent locations in the city to further strengthen the parking system. He directed the JDA to develop a yard system for seized e-rickshaws while ensuring compliance of guidelines issued for zone-based e-rickshaw operations in the city.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed to meet the financial requirements from the Rajasthan Transport Infrastructure Development Fund for installation of modern cameras and setting up of centralised control rooms in the city to monitor traffic rule violations. He warned of strict action against those who violate traffic rules and regulations. Also, keeping in mind the increasing number of vehicles, make an action plan for signal-free traffic operations by identifying major intersections in the future.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Director General of Police Mahender Reddy, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and other senior officials attended the meeting.
