CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that wildlife resources are the proud identity of the State. Conservation of wildlife is the responsibility of all of us. He said that our government is working on priority for wildlife and biodiversity. CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officers of the Forest Department to ensure effective monitoring of wildlife management activities. People’s participation should be ensured.
Shri Sharma was chairing the 15th meeting of the State Board of Wildlife at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday. He said that wildlife is the main component of the ecosystem in any region. In such a situation, awareness should be created at a large level about the importance of wildlife. He directed the officers to give maximum publicity to the wildlife resources of the state. He said that suggestions regarding wildlife conservation should be taken from experts.
89 Approval Proposal Approved
65 wildlife clearance cases which were earlier approved by the State Board of Wildlife through circulation were approved. Also, the state wildlife board approved 24 proposals in Monday’s meeting. This will help in conservation and protection of wildlife.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government has set a target of planting 10 crore saplings in the monsoon. He told the departmental officers that Van Mitras and Vriksha Mitras should be made in every village and city and with their collective efforts, the state will move further in the direction of environmental conservation. During this, detailed discussions were held on various proposals related to development in forest areas of the state. The meeting was attended by Forest and Environment Minister Sanjay Sharma, members of the committee, departmental officers and subject experts.
