CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that it is a matter of great happiness that the Bisalpur Dam is fully filled. This is the first time that the gates of the Bisalpur dam have been opened in the month of July. He said that the filling of Navnera Dam (Etawah, Kota), a component of Ram Jal Setu Link Project, will also prove useful for water supply as well as agricultural works.
He said that the State Government is committed to provide potable water in all the taluks of the State. The state government is ensuring water supply to all sections including farmers through various schemes like Ram Jal Setu Link Project, Yamuna Jal Samjhauta, Dewas Project and Indira Gandhi Canal and Ganganagar. He said good rainfall in the monsoon would ensure uninterrupted and regular water supply.
Bisalpur filled continuously for two years.
It is noteworthy that the date of 24 July 2025 has created a new history in the state. Due to good rainfall in the catchment area of Bisalpur dam, the filling capacity of the dam has reached 315.50 RLm. After this, Gate No. 10 was opened 1 meter, from which about 6000 cusecs of water is being drained. This is the first time that the Bisalpur dam has filled up in July itself. Also, it is for the first time that Bisalpur Dam is full for two consecutive years (2024-2025). The dam project ensures drinking water supply to about one crore population of Jaipur, Ajmer and Tonk districts.
Three gates of the dam have been opened.
At the same time, the Navnera Dam was also completely filled on Thursday. Its level reached 214 RL meters, after which its gate numbers 11, 12 and 13 were opened. About 600 cusecs of water is being released from the dam. This extraction will lead to augmentation of wells and ground water level around Kalisindh river in the upstream. The total filling capacity of the dam is 226.65 million cubic metres and the present filling capacity of the dam is 159.87 million cubic metres.
