The arrival of rain is a good sign for the start of water storage works – Chief Minister –
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma said that there could not be a better omen than the arrival of rains for the inauguration of water harvesting works. He said that in view of the limitation of water resources, it is necessary to prevent and conserve rainwater from going waste. In this direction, the ‘Karmabhoomi se Mathrubhumi Abhiyan’ is being run, in this campaign to strengthen the work of water harvesting with public participation, the support of migrant Rajasthanis is also being received.
Shri Sharma said that with the joint efforts of the State Government and public participation, Sanganer will become a model for water conservation and augmentation. Similarly, the work of water harvesting will be accelerated in every corner of the state. He said that every citizen, village, panchayat, town and city should be a part of this campaign and contribute in this noble cause of water conservation.
In the beginning of the program, Union Minister of Jal Shakti Shri CR Patil and Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma formally inaugurated the work of rainwater harvesting by performing Bhoomi Pujan.
Minister for Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Kanhaiya Lal, Minister for Water Resources Suresh Singh Rawat, Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources Abhay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary PHED and Ground Water Bhaskar A. Sawant, public representatives, senior officials and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
