As per the directions of CM Bhajan Sharma, large-scale relief and rescue operations are underway in areas affected by heavy rainfall across the state.
CM Bhajan : Teams from NDRF, SDRF, and Civil Defence have safely rescued 792 people from rain-affected regions. Currently, 57 SDRF teams and 7 NDRF teams are actively engaged in round-the-clock relief and rescue work. According to SDRF norms, an ex-gratia amount of ₹4 lakh is being provided to the families of those who lose their lives due to drowning, being swept away, or lightning strikes during heavy rains. Civil Defence teams are also working continuously, while an Indian Air Force helicopter has been deployed to airlift stranded people.
Relief camps have been set up to shelter the affected, and surveys are being conducted to assess damage to houses and public buildings in flood-hit areas.
Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma is closely monitoring the situation in affected districts and has directed administrative officials, NDRF, SDRF, and the police to remain alert and fully prepared.
So far, the state has recorded 528.60 mm of rainfall this monsoon (as of August 26), which is 53.33% higher than the normal average of 344.74 mm.
