CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said, “Temples are the foundation of Sanatan culture. India has been the land of grand and divine temples since ancient times, through which our spiritual glory has spread all over the world. He mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Sanatan culture of the country has got new energy. The lotus flowers brought back the glory of Shriram Lalla in Ayodhya, re-establishing the holy city as a spiritual and cultural centre. He also said that through Prayagraj Mahakumbh, the message of the grandeur of Sanatan culture and spiritual prosperity of India has reached the entire world.
Addressing the Sri Jambukhand Bhairavji Temple Restoration Festival at Khermal in Dungarpur, the Chief Minister said that the land of Dungarpur is a holy place of devotion and spirituality. The Shri Jambukhand Bhairavji Temple here has been a centre of faith and reverence for centuries. He described it as a symbol of upliftment of Sanatan culture.
Government is committed to development and heritage
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vishwanath Dham in Kashi, Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, Somnath Temple and Kedarnath Dham have been reconstructed. Adopting the same approach, the state government is also working for the revival and rejuvenation of religious places. In the Budget 2025-26, it has been planned to develop tribal faith centres – Tripura Sundari, Mangarh Dham, Beneshwar Dham, Sitamata Sanctuary, Rishabhdev, Gautameshwar Temple, Matrikundia etc.
Special facilities for senior citizens
Under the state government’s senior citizen pilgrimage scheme, devotees are being made to visit Ayodhya, Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu and other holy places. In the coming year, 6,000 senior citizens will be facilitated to undertake the pilgrimage by air and 50,000 by AC train. In the budget, a provision of Rs 161 crore has been made for the renovation of temples under the Devasthan department.
In addition, the bhog amount in temples has been increased to Rs 3,000 and the honorarium of priests to Rs 7,500 per month. Rs 100 crore has been sanctioned for the development of Khatushyamji Temple. Also, decoration and aarti programs are being organized on special occasions in 600 temples. The state government is also rejuvenating various temples including Brahma Mandir corridor (Pushkar) and Ranchhodrai Khed Tirtha (Pachpadra).
State Government’s Efforts for Tribal Welfare
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government is working for the preservation and promotion of tribal culture. Kalibai Bhil in Udaipur, Bansia Charpota in Banswara, and Dungar-Baranda memorial in Dungarpur are being constructed. The mess allowance in hostels for tribal students has been increased from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 per month, while the allowance for sportspersons staying in sports academies has been increased from Rs 2,600 to Rs 4,000. Also, seven new ashram hostels and three new residential schools are being set up in tribal areas.
Priority is being given to development works in the district.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that ring roads will be constructed in 15 cities including Dungarpur, which will relieve the traffic problem. In Dungarpur district, construction of a new college has been approved and a hostel for girls is also being constructed. A high-level recharge canal will be constructed to take the surplus water from the Som-Kamla-Amba dam to other reservoirs. The work of rejuvenating Moran river and renovation of Gaureshwar Mahadev and Neelkanth Mahadev temples will be undertaken. An agriculture produce market will also be set up in Seemalwara for the benefit of farmers.
The government is committed to provide employment to the youth.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given priority to the welfare of youth, farmers, women and the poor. The state government has set a target of providing one lakh government jobs in a year, out of which 60,000 youth have been appointed so far. The examination calendar for the upcoming recruitments has also been fixed. The government is ensuring time-bound and transparent recruitment processes so that the dreams of the youth can be fulfilled.
Earlier, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the Sri Bhairavji Temple and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state. On this occasion, Minister for Tribal Development Babulal Kharadi, MP Mr. Mannalal Rawat, MLA Mr. Shankar Decha, Mr. Srichand Kripalani and other public representatives and a large number of devotees were present.
