CM Bhajan Lal Sharma’s Udaipur visit- Sports are getting continuous encouragement in the state,
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that a person can succeed in life only with patience and discipline and in sports also patience and discipline are the keys to victory. Sports inculcates discipline, hard work, sociability and patriotism. He said that the State Government is committed to promote sports in the State. In order to create an appropriate environment for the promotion of sports at every level in the state, a sports policy is being brought incorporating sports-infrastructure, science, analysis, counselling and nutrition. At the same time, the morale of the players is being boosted by giving them training and encouragement at various levels.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was addressing the closing ceremony of the 37th Dangi-Patel Samaj Sports Competition organized by Dangi Seva Sansthan-Sports Association Udaipur at Kheda Kanpur playground in Udaipur on Tuesday. He said that the Dangi Patel Samaj deserves to be congratulated for providing a platform to the sporting talent by continuously organizing this sports meet since 1989.
The government is taking several steps to promote sports in the state.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government is taking several steps to encourage sports and sportspersons. He said that ‘Mission Olympics’ is being launched to take the state to the pinnacle of progress in the field of sports. Under this, 50 talented players of the state are also being provided world-class training, kits, coaching and all other facilities for the Olympic Games. Also, facilities will be made available in line with the ‘Target Olympic Podium (TOP)’ scheme of the central government.CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that in the recently held Youth Festival, the youth have been encouraged by organizing various competitions at block, district, division and state levels. Under the One District One Sports scheme, an academy of prevalent sports is being set up in each district. Rehabilitation arrangements for the players are being implemented at a cost of Rs 15 crore in Jaipur. He said that the work of building open gyms and playgrounds at Gram Panchayat level is being done on priority. The amount allocated in the last budget for the sports sector will be doubled in a phased manner.
Rajasthan’s glorious history in sports
The Chief Minister said that Rajasthan has a proud history of golden achievements and excellent performance in the field of sports. Sportspersons from the state have won several medals at national and international level in basketball, volleyball, shooting, horse riding, archery, athletics, rowing, kabaddi etc. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that this time eight players of our state participated in the Paris Paralympics and made the entire state proud by winning a total of 3 medals including gold, bronze. “We have honoured three athletes who won medals at the Paralympics by giving them cheques of Rs 5 crore.
‘Khelo Rajasthan ‘Youth Games to be held up to subdivision level
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that a request has been made to the Central Government to host the Khelo India National Youth Games in 2026 in Rajasthan. On the lines of Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo Rajasthan Youth Games are being organized at subdivision, district and state levels in the state. It also includes traditional and indigenous games. He said that the Central Government has also been urged to set up National Centre of Excellence and Khelo India State Centre of Excellence in the state to take the youth of the state forward in sports and to hone their talent. The opening of the National Centre of Excellence in Jaipur will encourage local athletes, as well as help in producing national and international level players.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that our government has handed over appointment letters to about 60 thousand people within a year, 15 thousand appointments are in process and the calendar of recruitment to about 81 thousand posts has been released. “Not a single paper was leaked during our tenure. The paper leak mafia is being put behind bars, so the youth should not worry, just prepare for competitive exams with hard work, their hard work will definitely succeed.
On this occasion, MLA Najar Singh Manshahia, DC Mohinderpal, SDM Sagar Setia, Chairman Zila Parishad Bikram Mofar, Chairman Market Committee Gian Chand Singla, Kulwant Rai Singla, Ranjit Kaur Bhatti and Chairman Block Samiti Karamjit Kaur were also present.
