CM Bhajan Lal Sharma: Pre-budget dialogue with women representatives and meritorious girl students

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the State Government is working with full commitment for the upliftment of youth, women, farmers and labourers. Many important decisions have been taken in the last one year for the education, health, safety and entrepreneurship of women. He said that the government will consider all the suggestions of women representatives and they will be included in the budget as much as possible.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government is running various schemes for the overall development of women. Under the Lado Incentive Scheme, an amount of Rs 1 lakh is being provided to the girl child in seven installments from the time she is born till she attains higher education. About Rs 33 crore has been received by the beneficiaries as the first instalment, and 3 lakh girl children will get the benefit of this scheme by March this year. Under the Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Udyam Protsahan Yojana, women are being provided loans on easy terms through banks. Under the Kalibai Bhil Mahila Sambal Shiksha Setu Yojana, more than 58 thousand girls have got the opportunity to get free secondary and higher secondary education. He said that under the Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Training and Skill Augmentation Yojana, 85 thousand women and girls have been given training in employment oriented, digital skills and personality development. More than 1 crore 22 lakh women and girls are being provided free sanitary napkins through the Kalibai Bhil Udaan Yojana.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme, more than 1 lakh 37 thousand saplings have been planted in more than 10 thousand gram panchayats. To take the message of this scheme to the people, the birth anniversary of more than 40 thousand girls has been celebrated. In a recent Chintan Shivir held in Udaipur, the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has identified this initiative as a best practice, considering it as the best example in the entire country.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the state government has increased the amount received at the birth of the first child under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,500. Under the scheme, Rs 10 lakh cash will be given to the beneficiary. While the central government gives Rs 6,000 for the second child if it is a girl, the state is giving Rs 6,000 for both the second child whether it is a boy or a girl. Under this scheme, 3 lakh 32 thousand beneficiaries have been paid.

CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that services like supplementary nutrition, pre-school education, vaccination are being provided to 45 lakh children, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls through 62 thousand Anganwadi centers in the state. To increase the reach of Anganwadi services, 1 thousand new Anganwadi Centres have been opened under the state head, and 2 thousand 365 centres are being developed as model Anganwadis. The new CSR policy has been brought with an aim to motivate the Bhamashahs and donors to further improve the Anganwadi facilities. “Mukhyamantri Amrit Aahar Yojana” has been launched to provide additional nutrition to 17 lakh children in the age group of 3-6 years at Anganwadi Centres. He said that with the efforts of the state government, Rajasthan will become a model state in the overall development of women, children and meritorious students.

In the pre-budget interaction, representatives of FICCI FLOW, UNICEF, Forti, Gayatri Pariwar, Yuva Sathi Sangathan, UNFPA, Vidya Bharati, VSK Foundation, Hindu Jagran Manch, Marudhara Nari Sashaktikaran Sangathan, Hema Welfare Foundation besides women entrepreneurs, social workers, public representatives and girl students presented their suggestions related to women safety, education, health and employment.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Deputy Chief Minister Mrs. Diya Kumari, Chief Secretary Mr. Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Mr. Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Kuldeep Ranka, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Mr. Shikhar Agarwal, and Secretary Women and Child Development Mr. Mahendra Soni.
