In view of the tense situation between India and Pakistan, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has been reviewing the security arrangements by holding regular high level meetings to take stock of the situation. He also held a high-level review meeting of the Home Department at the Chief Minister’s Office on Friday.
Addressing the meeting, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Rajasthan being a border state is a security sensitive state. We have more than a thousand kilometres of international border with Pakistan. He said that the state government is ensuring the security of the state and the people by analysing the current situation in depth. He said that all essential commodities including foodgrains, medicines are available in adequate quantity in the state. Additional units of RAC, Home Guards and SDRF are being sent to enhance security in the border districts. Along with this, in-charge secretaries have been sent to these districts. They are ensuring compliance of all instructions in coordination with local authorities.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officers to take necessary action by establishing adequate coordination with the Union Home Ministry, Central agencies and the Army. He said that it should be ensured that the personnel transferred to the border districts take charge soon. He said that if necessary, the cooperation of retired employees and volunteers should also be taken. He also directed to stop black marketing of foodgrains and other essential commodities.
Be alert, watch out for suspicious people.
The Chief Minister said that vigilance is security. Therefore, the security arrangements of buildings of strategic importance, important installations, religious places and other important buildings should be further enhanced. Elaborate security arrangements should be made at tourist places and crowded places. “We are keeping a close watch on the suspects and interrogating them,” he said.
Encourage people to follow guidelines
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officials to work in coordination with the concerned agencies to control the movement on roads and railways in the border districts and ensure blackouts as per requirement. He said that through social media and other publicity mediums, the general public should be made aware by giving detailed information about the blackout and mock drill so that there is no confusion. He said that the general public should be motivated to follow the administrative instructions and advisories of the Central and State Government. Keeping an eye on small incidents, rumours should be prevented from spreading. Sharma directed to take strict action against those spreading rumours and misleading information.
Complete ban on private drones and fireworks
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma directed the officers to ensure that the complete ban imposed on the flying of private drones in the border districts is adhered to. He directed to issue an advisory for wedding ceremonies to be held during the day and a complete ban on other crowded events and fireworks.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Jasbir Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police Mr Charanjit Singh Sohal, SDM Mr Rahul Sindhu, Joint MC Commissioner Mr Harcharan Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr Hardeep Singh, ACP Model Town Mr Harinder Singh and others were present.
