CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved the revised policy of compensation to farmers for land affected by ROW on construction of new transmission lines of 400 KV and above capacity in Rajasthan.
With the sensitive decision of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma towards the farmers, now additional compensation will be given in the construction of 400 KV and above transmission lines. He has accepted the age-old demand of the farmers so that in future the farmers can get the right of possession of transmission lines and appropriate compensation for the land used in the tower area.
In Rajasthan, the Compensation Policy for land affected by Right of Way (RoW) for construction of new transmission lines of 132 KV and above capacity, which came into force on 8th November, 2024, has been partially amended for transmission lines of 400 KV and above voltage.
The Minister of State (I / C) for Power, Shri Heeralal Nagar said that the revised policy will benefit the farmers in a big way by compensating them for the losses incurred on the construction of 400 KV and above transmission lines in their field. This will enable the construction of high capacity transmission lines in the state at a faster pace, which will also benefit the common consumers of the state in the form of good quality electricity.
Right of way in transmission line (ROW) –
Patadhikar is a strip of land where transmission lines are constructed, installed, operated and maintained. The transmission line is the center of the transmission line authority (ROW). Patadhikar removes all trees, structures and constructions that obstruct power lines.
As per the revised policy, in addition to the 200% already paid on the land value as per the DLC rates for the base area of the towers of these lines, 200% compensation will now be paid. The base area of the tower will be the area enclosed by the four legs of the tower on the ground floor, with an additional extension of one metre on each side.
Apart from this, 30 per cent of the land value in rural areas, 45 per cent of the land value in municipalities and all other urban planning areas and 60 per cent of the land value in municipal corporations and metropolitan areas will be paid as compensation.
The revised Right of Way (RoW) compensation policy will be applicable to all implementing agencies (transmission licensees), Power Grid Corporation and all private companies engaged in the construction of 400 KV transmission lines and above. The policy will be applicable to both inter-state and intra-state transmission lines.
