CM Bhajanlal Sharma stated that his government is giving top priority to expanding railway facilities across the state.
A stronger rail network, CM Bhajanlal said, would make travel easier for the public while also supporting local employment and industries. He directed officials to work in close coordination with railway authorities to ensure timely execution of the proposed railway projects in the state.
On Tuesday, Sharma reviewed the Ratlam–Dungarpur via Banswara new rail project and the Central Warehousing Corporation’s proposed new rail terminal in Bharatpur at the Chief Minister’s office. He noted that the upcoming terminal in Bharatpur would significantly benefit farmers, industrial units, and the general public by providing better transport facilities. He further instructed concerned officials to conduct a joint inspection to identify a suitable site for the terminal.
Regular Monitoring of Project Progress
The Chief Minister sought an update from North Western Railway officials on the status of the Ratlam–Dungarpur via Banswara rail project. He directed that land acquisition for the railway line be completed swiftly through coordination between departments. He emphasized the need to speed up the process by aligning financial and technical requirements with the Centre, while also ensuring regular monitoring of the project’s progress.
Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, along with senior state government and railway officials, attended the meeting. Collectors from the concerned districts also joined through video conference.
