CM Bhajanlal Sharma said that the role of women is very important in building a strong and developed nation and state. Development is incomplete without the participation of half of the population. He said that in our Sanatan culture, Shakti has been worshipped as Maa Durga, Maa Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and Maa Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom. This Shakti Vandana Mahotsav is a symbol of our commitment towards women empowerment. The government is making continuous efforts to provide a development-oriented environment to women in the state.

CM Bhajanlal Sharma paid tributes to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar during the inauguration of Shakti Vandan: Bharat Ke Swa Ka Abhinandan Mahotsav at Jawahar Kala Kendra on Saturday. He said Ahilyabai promoted the handloom industry in Maheshwar for the economic empowerment of women and gifted the famous Maheshwar saree to the world. She was not only a skilled administrator and brave warrior but also a patron of Sanatan culture. Taking this legacy forward, the state government has decided to celebrate Rajasthan Diwas on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, the date of the Panchang instead of the English calendar.
