Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and contributions:
The Chief Minister said that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar has made an invaluable contribution in the making of the Constitution.His Constitution made India the largest democracy in the world.He laid the foundation of a society based on equality and did significant work in areas such as education, women empowerment and labour reforms.
Announcement of new projects:
Babasaheb Ambedkar Sambal Yojana: Budget of ₹250 crore for development of basic amenities in villages with more than 50% SC population.
Development of Panchteerth Sites: Five major sites associated with the life of Dr. Ambedkar have been developed as “Panchteerth” by the Prime Minister.
Women’s Reservation: 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.
Social Security: Pension to more than 91 lakh people, pension amount increased to ₹1250 per month. Financial assistance is being provided to the children under the PALNHAR scheme.
Mukhyamantri Ayushman Bal Sambal Yojana: Free treatment up to ₹50 lakh for 56 rare diseases to children up to 18 years.
New Study Centre at Dr. Ambedkar Law University: Launch of Institute for Constitutional Studies and Research.
Panchteerth Yatra Scheme: Facility of travel to Panchteerth sites for Scheduled Caste citizens, buses were flagged off.
Awards and honours:
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma paid floral tributes to the statue of Babasaheb and the Constitution at the function and honoured students, social workers and women with Ambedkar awards.
