Under the Rajasthan Anganwadi Workers Scheme, CM Bhajanlal Sharma transferred Rs 1,000 to the accounts of 1.22 lakh Anganwadi workers for uniforms, promoting women empowerment and child development across the state.
Jaipur: In a major step towards women empowerment and strengthening child development services, the Rajasthan government has launched a significant initiative under the Rajasthan Anganwadi Workers Scheme. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma transferred Rs 1,000 each into the bank accounts of 1.22 lakh Anganwadi workers and helpers for two uniforms through direct benefit transfer (DBT).
CM’s Announcement and Anganwadi Reforms
During the program, CM Bhajanlal Sharma said that Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in the holistic development of children and lay the foundation for the future generation. Over the past two years, the Rajasthan Anganwadi Workers Scheme has focused on strengthening centers, improving infrastructure, and increasing the honorarium of staff.
He further announced a 10% increase in honorarium for Anganwadi workers, helpers, and mid-day meal cooks, effective from April 1, 2026. Under the Amrit Aahar Scheme, children aged 3 to 6 years are provided hot milk five days a week at Anganwadi centers.
Smartphones and Health Facilities
CM Sharma also stated that smartphones have been provided to Anganwadi workers and female supervisors. Additionally, free eye check-ups and spectacles will be provided in the near future as part of the Rajasthan Anganwadi Workers Scheme, aimed at enhancing their efficiency and health.

Participation in Gram-Ward Development Campaign
Highlighting PM Narendra Modi’s vision, the CM said that strengthening basic facilities in villages is key to building a self-reliant India. Accordingly, the Chief Minister’s Developed Gram-Ward Campaign is being conducted from March 19 to May 15. Anganwadi workers are encouraged to actively participate and provide suggestions for local development.
Women Empowerment Initiatives
CM Sharma also highlighted other women-centric programs such as the Lakhpati Didi Scheme, Solar Didi, and Bank Sakhi initiatives, which provide financial and social empowerment. The government has also increased the loan limit from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh under the Lakhpati Didi Scheme and continues to offer subsidies of Rs 5 per liter of milk along with benefits under the Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojana and Maa Voucher Scheme.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari added that Anganwadi workers play an essential role in shaping the personality of young children. Women empowerment programs under the leadership of CM Bhajanlal Sharma are paving the way for economic independence, education, and safety for women across Rajasthan.
