Nanda Rajjat Yatra Route Maintenance and Expansion
CM Dhami also highlighted the importance of the Nanda Rajjat pilgrimage route, which holds immense cultural and religious significance for Uttarakhand. He requested central assistance for its maintenance, security, and widening. The Chief Minister stressed that improving narrow and risky sections of the route would not only enhance the safety and convenience of pilgrims but also boost tourism in the state.
Improving Connectivity in Hilly Regions
The meeting also focused on the development and expansion of key roads in Uttarakhand, including the Gwaldam, Nandkesri, Tharali, Dewal, Mundoli, and Van Motor routes. CM Dhami pointed out that these roads are vital for local residents’ mobility and act as the backbone of the region’s socio-economic activity. Upgrading these routes will strengthen connectivity in remote hilly areas and open new avenues for tourism development.
Central Government Support for Uttarakhand Development
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh assured CM Dhami that the central government would prioritize Uttarakhand’s strategic, developmental, and security requirements. CM Dhami expressed gratitude for the minister’s assurance and said he is confident that the state will receive increased central support in the coming years. This meeting marks a significant step toward enhancing Uttarakhand’s infrastructure, security, and cultural preservation.
