CM Dhami’s initiative to connect the people with river conservation appealed to respect all rivers like ‘Maa’ The river festival program was organized at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar. He also prayed to Maa Ganga that the wishes of all the devotees coming to Haridwar are fulfilled.
Addressing the Nadi Utsav programme, the Chief Minister said that rivers were not just a source of water but have been the cornerstone of social, economic and religious life since ancient times. He said that conservation and augmentation of rivers is also very important to deal with global challenges like global warming. The Chief Minister appealed to all the citizens to respect rivers as’ Maa ‘and cooperate in keeping them clean and serene. On this occasion, the devotees present including the Chief Minister himself took a pledge not to pollute the rivers and to keep them clean always.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other members of the CEC attended the meeting. The worship of Maa Ganga was duly performed by Acharya Amit Shastri.
