CM Dr. Yadav said addiction sets back the happiness and prosperity of families, society, and the nation. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ Abhiyan five years ago, and the state government is making every possible effort to achieve the resolution of a drug-free Madhya Pradesh. Liquor shops and bars are banned in 19 religious areas of the state. The police successfully conducted the ‘Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori’ campaign from July 15 to July 31. The police are tightening their grip on the masterminds of the drug trade. The efforts are underway to raise social awareness for a drug-free Madhya Pradesh, along with strict law enforcement. The government is determined to root out the menace of drugs from society. Bhopal Police have taken firm action against the accused involved in illegal drug trade, and such action will continue regardless of the accused’s influence or reach.
CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the state-level mass oath-taking ceremony for a drug-free society, organised at Ravindra Bhavan’s Hansdhwani Auditorium on the fifth anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the oath-taking ceremony by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, CM Dr. Yadav also transferred over Rs. 339 crore in pensions with a single click to the accounts of more than 56.52 lakh beneficiaries of the Social Security Pension Scheme. Earlier, he offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and visited an exhibition focused on drug de-addiction. The Chief Minister also presented the Vivekananda Nasha Mukti Awards for 2023–24 to Shri Rajeev Tiwari, President of Shuddhi De-addiction Centre; Shri Sujit Kumar Dwivedi of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Seva Samiti; Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Indore, Shri Rajesh Dandotiya; Additional Superintendent of Police, Vidisha, Shri Prashant Chaubey; and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hawk Force Balaghat, Shri Santosh Patel.
World Amazed by Ancient Indian Knowledge and Science
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the refined Indian philosophy, based on knowledge and science, is viewed with great wonder by the world. When India’s great scientist Jagdish Chandra Bose proved that plants have life, scientists across the globe were astonished. Every person should be conscious of their values, cooperative living, and social responsibilities. India is known for its spirit of harmony and its cultural heritage, and it is on the strength of these systems that India has attained a special place in the world.
Gayatri and Brahma Kumaris Pariwar Appreciated for Drug De-addiction Efforts
The Chief Minister said that individuals should be inspired by positive thoughts to quit addiction themselves and motivate others to do the same. He praised the commendable efforts of the Gayatri Pariwar and the Brahma Kumaris in raising public awareness. CM Dr. Yadav administered the drug-free oath to everyone present in the auditorium. He also announced that the state government will celebrate the birth anniversaries of Lord Shri Balaram and Shri Krishna with great enthusiasm at the state level.
Public Cooperation Made the Campaign Successful: Minister Kushwaha
Minister for Social Justice and Divyangjan Welfare, Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha said that this is the fifth anniversary of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. A nationwide public awareness campaign against addiction is being run in August, and in Madhya Pradesh, under the leadership of CM Dr. Yadav, the police have successfully implemented it with public cooperation. He said that addiction is a curse for society, and with public participation, we will fulfill the resolution of a developed and prosperous India.
