CM Dr. Yadav has said that the state government is with flood-affected families in this hour of crisis. CM Dr. Yadav transferred Rs. 30 crore to the accounts of over 28,000 flood-affected people across the state as relief assistance in a single click. CM Dr. Yadav interacted with them, speaking from Samatva Bhavan at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday. He held virtual discussions with flood victims from Shivpuri, Guna, Damoh, Raisen and Chhindwara, inquiring about the arrangements made by the administration during the floods. Shri Bhagchand from Shivpuri, Shri Radheshyam Saket from Mauganj, Shri Hemraj from Damoh, Shri Govind Singh Sen from Raisen, Shri Chandramohan from Chhindwara, along with victims from Guna and other districts, said that they had never experienced flooding of such magnitude before. The flood victims reported that the administration had established relief camps with accommodations and meals provided for affected families. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that it is a mark of our cultural values that even in distress, rural people speak with humility. He informed that this monsoon season has brought 37% more rainfall than normal, causing flood situations in several areas of the state. He himself visited affected areas to meet victims and assess the situation on the ground.
Social and Religious Organizations Played a Vital Role
CM Dr. Yadav said the government had made advanced preparations to tackle floods during the monsoon. State and Union ministers remained in constant coordination to ensure effective rescue and relief operations in affected areas. SDRF, NDRF and Army personnel were deployed to the affected areas. He also commended the vital role played by social and religious organisations in assisting victims and expressed gratitude for their support.
Sharing his experiences from flood-affected areas, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in Shivpuri, two people who had been trapped in floodwaters for 36 hours were rescued by the administration, and they credited their survival entirely to these efforts. In Guna, flood-affected women first tied a rakhi on his wrist before speaking about their hardships—a gesture he described as a reflection of our culture, where compassion precedes complaint.
Remain Vigilant Amid Heavy Rains
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav cautioned that the rainy season is not yet over and urged people to remain alert to the possibility of heavy rains and floods. He said Rs. 28 crore had already been disbursed to flood victims earlier, with an additional Rs. 30 crore released today. This amount does not include compensation for crop loss, for which surveys are underway. So far in 2025–26, Rs. 123 crore in relief has been distributed under various heads, and adequate funds have been allocated to all districts for disaster management. Revenue Minister Shri Karan Singh Verma, Minister of State for Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, and Principal Secretary (Revenue) Shri Vivek Porwal were present at the event at Samatva Bhavan.
