- Jabalpur Advocate Generals Office organized a felicitation ceremony
CM Dr. Yadav highlighted the Indian judiciary’s remarkable global reputation for its bold and fair decisions. He remarked that the true strength of the world’s largest democracy lies in its courts. Citing the historic decision of the Allahabad High Court as a milestone, Dr. Yadav noted that only the Indian judiciary has demonstrated the courage to rule against a sitting Prime Minister. He emphasized that while delivering justice, both merit and morality should be considered.
CM Dr. Yadav made these remarks during a felicitation ceremony organized by the Advocate General in Jabalpur. Speaking at the event, Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Justice Shri Suresh Kumar Kait, expressed his gratitude, stating that he received more respect in Jabalpur during just three months than in his entire career.
The ceremony also honored senior advocates, along with CM Dr. Yadav and Chief Justice Shri Kait. The event was attended by various judges, senior advocates, and dignitaries, including Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain.
CM Dr. Yadav stated that the judiciary serves as the sentinel of Indian democracy, safeguarding its principles and values. He emphasized that India’s judicial system not only provides the nation with a unique identity on the global stage but also enhances its pride. Highlighting the judiciary’s contributions, he noted that many historic decisions made by the courts remain relevant to this day, showcasing the beauty of Indian democracy.CM Dr. Yadav further explained that the legislature, executive, and judiciary are the three essential pillars of democracy. While the legislature is responsible for lawmaking, the judiciary plays a critical role in interpreting those laws, ensuring justice and fairness in governance.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that adapting to changing times while maintaining its core relevance is the hallmark of India’s judiciary. He noted that the judiciary has delivered numerous landmark decisions that prioritize not only competence but also morality and life values, reflecting its enduring wisdom.Drawing an analogy from the Mahabharata, Dr. Yadav highlighted the distinction between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, attributing the Pandavas’ strength to their adherence to life values and morality. Similarly, he pointed out that although Karna’s competence was unmatched, his overwhelming sense of revenge and lack of moral grounding set him apart. This, he said, underscores the importance of integrating morality with ability, a principle consistently upheld by the judiciary.
Chief Justice Shri Suresh Kumar Kait shared that prior to his tenure in Jabalpur, he served in the Delhi High Court, Telangana, and other High Courts. He expressed his gratitude, stating that as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, he has received greater respect here than throughout his entire judicial career.
