Continuing its Mission Rozgar initiative to empower the youth, the Punjab government under CM Mann has created history by providing over 55,000 jobs in the first three years of its tenure.
CM Mann, while distributing appointment letters to 271 new recruits on Wednesday, emphasized that unlike past governments that offered very few jobs towards the end of their terms, his government has consistently prioritized youth employment from day one. He stressed that these opportunities were earned purely on merit through a transparent process, not as a favor.
CM Mann urged the new appointees to work with dedication and a sense of mission, serving society and uplifting the underprivileged. He said the government’s focus has always been to empower youth through fair recruitment, ensuring their active role in Punjab’s social and economic progress.
Calling the occasion a historic milestone, the Chief Minister said these recruitments will shape the future of Punjab’s youth and reaffirm the government’s commitment to their welfare. He also criticized earlier regimes for neglecting education, pointing out that leaders’ children studied in private convent schools while government schools were reduced to midday meal centers.
In contrast, Mann highlighted his government’s education reforms—upgrading schools into Schools of Eminence and achieving the top rank in the National Achievement Survey. He proudly noted that 848 government school students cleared NEET, 265 qualified JEE Mains, and 45 cracked JEE Advanced. According to him, true upliftment lies not in freebies but in education, which raises living standards and breaks the cycle of poverty.
Mann further said that his entry into politics was driven by the misrule of past leaders who exploited Punjab for their personal gains. He pledged that his government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the state’s growth, focusing on transparency, people’s feedback, and safeguarding Punjab’s interests.
He added that Punjab is witnessing a new era of progress, with significant strides made in education, health, power, and employment in just three years—reflecting the government’s clear intent to serve with integrity and commitment.
The event was attended by Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Dr. Ravjot Singh, along with senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary Tejveer Singh and Education Secretary Anindita Mitra.
