CM Mohan Yadav has said that in the present era, electricity (energy) is as essential as air and water. It is a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh fulfills the power needs of industries, farmers and citizens of the state and also contributes to the nation’s requirements
. The Delhi Metro runs on electricity supplied from Madhya Pradesh. Plans are being made to ensure that by the year 2047, the state remains power surplus, with no shortage of electricity. All available resources are being utilised for power generation in the state, while across the country; activities for clean energy expansion are gaining momentum. In Madhya Pradesh, solar power generation has increased by 30 percent over the last 11 years.
Over 51,000 New Posts to be Filled in Power Companies
CM Dr. Yadav said that more than 1,000 youths are being given appointment letters today, and over 51,000 new posts will be filled in the state’s power companies. This will strengthen the functioning of the companies. Farmers are being given subsidies worth about Rs. 20,267 crore this year, while over one crore families in the state have received subsidies worth Rs. 6,445 crore from the electricity department. Every possible resource is being harnessed for power generation. The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is also being promoted. Sanchi has been developed as the state’s first Solar City. Around 32 lakh farmers are being provided solar pumps. The clean energy generated in the state is giving a new shape to the energy industry.
The Public Health Engineering Department has also started initiatives for generating its own electricity. This will increase the responsibility of the energy department and create demand for skilled manpower in management. The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is committed to positioning Madhya Pradesh among the leading states of the country in every sector.
Exhibition Showcasing Achievements of Power Companies
On this occasion, CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated and viewed an exhibition focused on the achievements of state power companies. He also interacted with representatives of electricity employees’ organisations. A short film on Madhya Pradesh’s energy sector was screened. The Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to the newly appointed personnel. Energy Minister felicitated CM Dr. Yadav by presenting a turban, shawl, and a citation for approving more than 51,000 regular posts in power companies. The citation was also read aloud in his honor. Parents of the newly appointed employees were also present.
Power Companies Given a New Lease of Life
Energy Minister Shri Pradyumn Singh Tomar said that by approving such a large number of appointments, CM Dr. Yadav has given a new lease of life to the state’s power companies. For the first time, so many regular posts have been sanctioned, which is why the Chief Minister was felicitated today. He added that the energy department is constantly working for the welfare of farmers and consumers. Farmers will no longer have to irrigate their fields during chilly nights, as daytime power supply for irrigation is being ensured. He also emphasized the need for more funds for infrastructure development.
Madhya Pradesh Advancing Rapidly with Innovations in Energy Sector
Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Shri Neeraj Mandloi said that over 1,000 youths are being appointed today, and more than 51,700 permanent posts have been approved in the six state power companies. This initiative will help Madhya Pradesh set new benchmarks in nation’s energy sector. The department has consistently met the energy needs of the state as well as the nation. With innovations in solar and conventional energy, Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead rapidly. The state is committed to extending full support to new investors in the energy sector. Shri Mandloi also expressed gratitude to officials, employees, and employee organisations for their cooperation.
