CM Mohan Yadav announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Ken-Betwa River Linking Project, a transformative initiative set to reshape Bundelkhand’s future. This project will benefit ten districts, including Damoh, by providing irrigation, drinking, and industrial water supply to over 8 lakh hectares of land. Dr. Yadav highlighted that this initiative will not only eliminate water scarcity but also enable Bundelkhand to surpass Punjab in agricultural output, significantly boosting farmers’ prosperity. He urged residents to retain their land, emphasizing its growing value due to upcoming developments.
Infrastructure and Tourism Boost for Damoh
During the event, CM Mohan Yadav announced the construction of the Pathariya Bypass at a cost of ₹51 crore. He also declared that a Higher Secondary School would be named in honor of nationalist thinker Shri K.C. Sudarshan. Additionally, he unveiled plans to introduce boating activities at the Matkoleswar Seetanagar Dam to enhance tourism in the region.
The announcements were made at the annual festival of Pujya Jai-Jai Sarkar at Ajab Dham, near Pathariya in Damoh district, on Wednesday evening.
Commitment to Development and Agriculture
Reaffirming the state government’s dedication to fulfilling Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a “Developed India,” CM Mohan Yadav emphasized key initiatives beyond river-linking projects. He highlighted efforts to promote animal husbandry, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leader in milk production. The government has launched a subsidy program for rearing ten cows and introduced a bonus on milk production. Additionally, he appealed to citizens to minimize unnecessary wedding expenses.
Promoting Religious and Cultural Heritage
On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, CM Mohan Yadav expressed his honor in visiting the sacred Damoh district. He spoke about the spiritual significance of Madmoleswar Dham, where the Sonar, Kopra, and Judi rivers meet, and assured intensified efforts to promote religious and spiritual tourism in Bundelkhand.
CM Mohan Yadav also marked the commencement of the Vikramotsav festival in Ujjain, celebrating the start of the Vikram Samvat, founded by Emperor Vikramaditya.
During his visit, CM Mohan Yadav met with saints and sages at the Ajab Dham temple complex. In a symbolic gesture, he used a remote control button from the stage to officially rename Fatehpur village as Ajab Dham.

He welcomed religious devotees participating in the 27-Kund Yajna from February 20 to March 2 and acknowledged CM Mohan Yadav’s support in addressing community needs.
