CM Mohan Yadav :Ayurveda is a genuine approach to improving well-being at every stage of life

CM Mohan Yadav stated that Ayurveda is the key to achieving a long and healthy life, in line with the principle of ‘Jivate Sharadah Shatam’ (living for a hundred years). He emphasized that Ayurveda is a genuine method for improving well-being at every stage of life. Dr. Yadav praised Ayurveda as a time-honored tradition offering natural cures for various ailments, deeply rooted in the study of plants and yoga. He also acknowledged Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for promoting Ayurveda worldwide and proposed hosting the next Ayurveda festival during the Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain. He shared these thoughts during the opening session of the 21st Ayurveda Festival-2025 national seminar.

11 Ayurvedic Colleges to be Established in the State

CM Mohan Yadav also announced the creation of 11 Ayurvedic colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Under the new education policy, universities will be allowed to offer courses in Ayurveda, medicine, paramedical fields, and nursing. The AYUSH department, similar to the Health Department, will manage the registration of clinics and nursing homes and will align its retirement age to 65. A national-level Ayurveda Institute will be set up in Ujjain, and the AYUSH department’s purchasing policies will be streamlined. The government will also support the establishment of Ayurvedic product units and provide land for permanent Ayurvedic institutions during the Simhastha event. In response to Maharishi Vedic University’s suggestion, the state government will consider supporting the creation of an International Vedic Court in Ujjain. Additionally, provisions will be made for studying Unani medicine in Hindi.

Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to implement the river-linking initiative.

CM Mohan Yadav emphasized Madhya Pradesh’s distinction as the ‘Tiger State’ and its abundant wildlife heritage. He highlighted the state’s significance as the source of key rivers such as the Narmada, Tapti, Chambal, and Ken-Betwa, which provide vital water resources to neighboring states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Madhya Pradesh takes pride in being the first state to implement the river-linking project, realizing the vision of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated Rs 1 lakh 75 thousand crores to support this initiative.

State Government Dedicated to Promoting Ayurveda Research – Minister Shri Parmar

Shri Inder Singh Parmar, Minister for AYUSH, Technical Education, and Higher Education, stated that the state government is making significant efforts to advance research in Ayurveda. MLA Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani noted that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has inspired even developed nations to adopt Ayurveda-based lifestyles. Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee Shri Devendra Triguna proposed the establishment of centers for Ayurveda, Yoga, and Panchkarma in places like Pachmarhi and Ujjain. Vaidya Shri Manoj Nesari emphasized the need to integrate technology with AYUSH, while Dr. Girish Chandra Verma, Director of Maharishi Vedic University, recommended incorporating health education from school to higher education levels.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Honors Dedicated and Expert Vaidyas of Ayurveda

CM Mohan Yadav digitally inaugurated the national seminar by worshiping Lord Dhanvantari and lighting a ceremonial lamp. He released a souvenir to mark Arogya Parv and honored expert Vaidyas for their significant contributions to Ayurveda. Appointment letters were given to lecturers selected by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. During the event, organized by the All India Ayurveda Mahasammelan in collaboration with the state AYUSH department, Dr. Yadav was welcomed with a medicinal plant, Kalash, and Angavastram. He also inaugurated and toured the Arogya Mela during the program.

Principal Secretary of AYUSH, Shri D.P. Ahuja, President of the Madhya Pradesh Ayurveda Sammelan, Vaidya Shri Vinod Bairagi, CEO of Dhootpapeshwar Pharmaceuticals, Shri Ranjit Pauranik, and Principal of Pandit Khushilal Sharma Ayurveda College, Dr. Umesh Shukla, were also present at the event.
