CM Mohan Yadav stated that the construction of the first state-of-the-art unit in the Meditech textile sector at the Acharpura Industrial Area in Bhopal is progressing rapidly. He hailed this initiative as a new chapter in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial development. CM Dr. Yadav emphasises that the arrival of technology-driven production units is a clear indication that the state has become a preferred destination not only for traditional industries but also for specialised and high-quality sectors.
CM Mohan Yadav said that this unit will not only enhance Bhopal’s identity but will also position Madhya Pradesh prominently in the industrial map of India. The investment in the Meditech textile sector will elevate the state in the fields of medical textiles, hygiene, and health-supporting technologies. He affirmed that the state government is focused not just on attracting investments but on establishing a culture of implementing them on the ground.
This high-tech production plant is being developed through a joint collaboration between Germany’s globally renowned TWE Group and India’s experienced OBT Group. Their joint venture, TWE OBT Pvt. Ltd., is investing approximately ₹160 crore to establish the unit at Acharpura. The facility will manufacture textile components such as ADL (Acquisition and Distribution Layer), top sheets, and back sheets, which are used in hygiene products for women and children.
These components have traditionally been imported, and once operational, this unit will contribute significantly to making India self-reliant in this segment while positioning “Make in India” products competitively on the global stage. In its first phase, the unit will provide direct employment to over 200 individuals, with the potential for this number to increase manifold as operations scale up.
The Acharpura Industrial Area, developed by the Madhya Pradesh government, stands as a model of how well-structured infrastructure and an industry-friendly environment can instil investor confidence. The company has acknowledged the availability of land, electricity, transportation, and other essential resources as ideal for manufacturing. Technically, this unit will be the first of its kind in India in the Meditech segment.
CM Mohan Yadav further stated that the state government has adopted a new industrial strategy driven by a clear vision, prioritising both investment and implementation. He noted that the swift decisions, streamlined processes, and trustworthy environment in Madhya Pradesh are prompting investors to make bold commitments. The establishment of this unit in a high-tech sector like Meditech textiles reflects this growing confidence.
Special attention is also being paid to green building norms and environmental sustainability in the construction of the unit. The facility will operate without boilers and will ensure no air or water pollution, aligning it with the goals of Swachh Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
According to TWE OBT Pvt. Ltd., this will be their first and flagship facility in India, marking the beginning of advanced technical textile production in the country. With high-level technological support from Germany, the unit is expected to set a new direction for India’s textile sector.
The state government is working to link this project with initiatives like Textile ODOP (One District One Product), PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks, and Cluster Policy to further strengthen regional development opportunities. While Madhya Pradesh already enjoys national recognition in the textile sector, this new unit will expand that reputation globally in the Meditech, technical, and hygiene textile domains.
CM Mohan Yadav concluded by saying that in the coming years, Madhya Pradesh will emerge as a hub for high-end Meditech textile products, where innovation, technology, and employment will progress hand in hand. This investment is not just a unit—it is a strong signal of the state’s industrial future.
