CM Mohan Yadav stated that Adi Shankaracharya spent his childhood residing in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. His philosophy and teachings remain relevant even today. The grand statue of Adi Shankaracharya, who worked towards unifying society, is established in Omkareshwar. All necessary measures should be taken for the holistic development of Omkareshwar, including the statue site. By the time of Simhastha 2028, Omkareshwar should become a major center of attraction for devotees and tourists, similar to Ujjain. This location holds significant importance in the religious and spiritual tourism landscape of the state. He emphasized that the Shiv Panchayatan Temple complex in Ekatma Dham, Omkareshwar, should be developed in the same manner as Mahakal Lok.

On Thursday, CM Mohan Yadav held a meeting at Samattva Bhavan (Chief Minister’s residence) with senior officials to discuss the development of Ekatma Dham, Omkareshwar and issued necessary directives. He also reviewed a presentation prepared by the Department of Culture.

CM Mohan Yadav highlighted that improving facilities in Omkareshwar would significantly increase the number of visiting devotees and tourists. Constructing the temple in Nagara-style architecture, similar to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, will enhance the state’s unique identity. He instructed that the development of Ekatma Dham, construction of accessible roadways, and implementation of the proposed ropeway project should be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Rajesh Rajoura (Additional Chief Secretary, CM’s Office), Sanjay Kumar Shukla (Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development & Housing), Shivshekhar Shukla (Principal Secretary, Culture), Ilaiyaraaja T (Managing Director, Tourism Development Corporation), and other officials..
