CM Mohan Yadav said that development committees will be formed in all municipal corporations across the state. These committees will include professionals such as doctors, engineers, city planners, professors, lecturers, and teachers, who will collectively contribute to the development of their respective cities. He stated that a provision for forming these development committees has already been included in the current budget. ssDr. Yadav addressing the mayors of the state emphasized that the mayor is the first citizen of the city and should work with full dedication, capacity, and a spirit of service for the welfare of the city and its residents. He stressed the importance of keeping cities at the forefront of development and said that a continuous dialogue on urban development roadmaps will be maintained.On Monday, mayors from 12 cities of the state paid a courtesy visit to Samatva Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s residence, under the leadership of Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, Mayor of Indore and President of the MP Mayors Association. During the meeting, the mayors shared their perspectives and suggestions for urban development.

Prioritize the works of Jal Ganga water conservation campaign
CM Mohan Yadav stated that the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign is being conducted in the state from March 30 to June 30, emphasizing the critical importance of water conservation. He urged all mayors to prioritize water conservation activities within their municipal corporation areas and ensure the campaign’s success through active public participation.Dr. Yadav also highlighted the ongoing efforts toward industrialization in the state and encouraged municipal corporations to submit proposals for the development of their respective areas. He suggested organizing career development or personality enhancement camps for children and aspiring youth to support their growth.The Chief Minister called on mayors to utilize public support effectively in city development and work towards strengthening the concept of city governance. He emphasized the need for corporations to adopt financial prudence, reduce unnecessary expenditures, and generate revenue to fund development initiatives. He encouraged taking up new projects each year and progressing toward self-reliance by creating sustainable sources of income.
The President of the Mayors Association submitted a memorandum of demands to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The memorandum included requests for establishing a formal protocol for mayors, enhancing their financial powers, addressing the shortage of officers and staff in municipal corporations, and providing one security guard for each mayor.
