CM Mohan Yadav said that the development of Bhopal must be carried out with proper planning while preserving its rich heritage. He said that as part of integrating Bhopal’s illustrious past into the city’s planning, a gate dedicated to Raja Bhoj will be constructed on the road to Bhojpur, and another dedicated to Emperor Vikramaditya on the road to Ujjain. The Bhoomi-Pujan for both gates will be held soon. Dr. Yadav further stated that planning for Bhopal@2047 should focus on reflecting the diversity of various regions of the state within the capital. He directed that an action plan be prepared for developing Bhopal as a metropolitan area by expanding a transport network connecting the Agra-Mumbai Road in the west with Vidisha, Raisen, and Sehore. These instructions were given by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav during a review meeting on the development works of Bhopal district at the ministry. Minister in charge of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and District, Shri Chaitanya Kashyap; Sports, Youth Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Shri Vishwas Sarang; Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, Smt. Krishna Gaur; and Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain were present at the meeting. Public representatives expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for the removal of the BRTS corridor in Bhopal, noting that it has led to a reduction in road accidents.
CM Mohan Yadav said that the Global Investors Summit has firmly established Bhopal as a key center for industry and trade. He noted that sectors such as education, healthcare, tourism, and industry are witnessing continuous expansion. Emphasizing the need for integrated urban development, Dr. Yadav directed that a comprehensive plan be implemented by creating an interlinked network of road transport and metro facilities for smooth mobility within the city. He stressed that transport infrastructure should be designed for multipurpose use and that suggestions from public representatives must be incorporated into the planning of routes. Dr. Yadav further instructed that satellite surveys be utilized in city planning to monitor and prevent the construction of illegal settlements. He also said that the installation of CCTV cameras should be made mandatory in all approved colonies to enhance security.Regarding the construction of high-rise buildings in Bhopal, the Chief Minister directed that the state’s existing rules for high-rise developments must be strictly applied within the city as well.
CM Mohan Yadav emphasized on the need to ensure that residential facilities developed under slum-free city initiatives are not rented out. He stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against the construction of illegal colonies and slums, warning that if such activities occur, the concerned revenue and municipal corporation officers will be held directly accountable. Dr. Yadav instructed officials to take immediate action regarding the land management of the BHEL area. He also directed that solar panels be installed on all government buildings in Bhopal as a priority measure, with the goal of making the capital a model city for solar energy utilization in the country.Additionally, the Chief Minister called for the establishment of an effective policing system in Bhopal district, emphasizing the need to control anti-social elements and to create an example of smart policing by ensuring a well-organized traffic management system.
It was informed during the meeting that metro construction work is underway on two corridors in Bhopal — from AIIMS to Karond Square and from Bhadbhada Square to Ratnagiri Tiraha. An in-principle agreement has been reached between the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, and the Urban Administration Department of Madhya Pradesh for the joint use of BHEL land under a 50-50 model, aimed at supporting both city development and the interests of BHEL.The meeting also highlighted that, in response to the growing demand from industries in the Acharpura area, an industrial zone is being developed over 31.21 hectares of land in Hajjampura village at a cost of ₹32.29 crore. Additionally, plans are in place to develop a Readymade Garment Hosiery Park across 69.91 hectares of land in Satgarhi village of the Kolar area.Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, MLAs Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani, Shri Vishnu Khatri, and senior officials were present at the meeting.
