CM Mohan Yadav : Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav announced a new livelihood initiative titled “Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam”, aimed at empowering women through orchard farming. Under this scheme, 30,000 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will develop fruit orchards on 30,000 acres of land, with an estimated investment of ₹900 crore. A total of 30 lakh fruit saplings will be planted. Beneficiaries will receive saplings, fertilizers, financial aid for pit digging, barbed wire fencing for plant protection, and water ponds for irrigation. Additionally, training on orchard management will also be provided to the participating women.
While addressing the Council of Ministers before the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the Chief Minister congratulated officials and citizens for the effective execution of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan.
“Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign to Run Till September 15
CM Mohan Yadav also shared details about the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, which will run from July 1 to September 15. As part of the initiative, saplings will be planted at the source points of nearly 100 rivers, with 10 acres of land designated for each site and a total budget allocation of ₹42 crore. The campaign will be carried out with public involvement and coordinated efforts from departments such as Panchayat & Rural Development, Urban Development, Forest, and Horticulture.
To ensure smooth execution, the Chief Minister directed the formation of District Development Advisory Committees in every district. These committees will include Members of Parliament (MPs), MLAs, panchayat and urban body representatives, and subject experts from various fields including law, medicine, agriculture, social service, horticulture, and dairy.
Major Milestones Under Jal Ganga Abhiyan
Highlighting the outcomes of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, CM Dr. Yadav reported:

Construction of over 85,000 Khet-Taalabs to conserve rainwater.

Recharge of more than 1 lakh wells.

Launch of over 1,000 Amrit Sarovars under the 2.0 scheme.

In urban areas: rejuvenation of 3,300+ water bodies, cleaning of 2,200 drains, and construction of over 4,000 rainwater harvesting systems.

Active participation of 40 lakh citizens in reviving over 5,000 historic/religious water sites.

Registration of 2.3 lakh Jaldoots to support water conservation efforts.
15,000+ Water Structures Formally Entered in Records
Under the Avril Nirmal Narmada Yojana, initiatives like the digitization of religious routes such as the Narmada Parikrama Path and Panchkoshi Yatra have been undertaken. The plantation has begun over 5,600 hectares, while more than 2,500 water retention structures (like ponds and stop dams) have been constructed in forest areas for wildlife. In addition, over 15,000 water structures have now been officially recorded in government revenue documents. For the upcoming monsoon, around 6 crore saplings are prepared for plantation.
Procurement of Moong and Urad Starts July 7
CM Mohan Yadav shared that the Central Government has set procurement targets under MSP: 3.51 lakh metric tonnes for Moong and 1.23 lakh metric tonnes for Urad. As of June 30, 2.94 lakh farmers have registered for Moong and 11,495 for Urad. The last date for registration is July 6, with procurement running from July 7 to August 6.
Union Carbide Waste Disposal Completed
The Chief Minister declared that the long-standing issue of Union Carbide waste has finally been resolved, with full disposal completed on June 30, closing a four-decade-old environmental concern.
Laptops to Be Distributed to Toppers on July 4
On July 4, laptops will be distributed to meritorious students across Madhya Pradesh. CM Mohan Yadavalso briefed the Cabinet on the achievements of the RISE Conclave in Ratlam and the Investor Meet held in Surat, Gujarat.
CM Extends Birthday Wishes to Ministers and Legislators
Before the Cabinet meeting, Dr. Yadav greeted Deputy CM Jagdish Devda and Minister of State for Forest and Environment Dilip Ahirwar on their birthdays with floral bouquets. He also extended wishes to Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Govind Singh Rajput and acknowledged the birthdays of former minister Gopal Bhargava and MLA Reeti Pathak.
